SD60ers, let's
picnic! |
Greetings,
A big thanks to everyone who
attended and helped organize our picnic! The weather cooperated,
the food was great, and the
topic of the day couldn't be better: the impending return of
sound Republican principles to our local and national
government! Our guests included none other than Mark Beusgens,
Chairman of the Emmer campaign, who delivered an encouraging
message from the gubernatorial perspective. Joel Demos arrived
straight from shooting a campaign ad to talk about his race to
Washington. Of course, we also heard from Scott Brooks, Brian
Gruber, and Scot Pekarek, who are all in the midst of active,
vibrant campaigns.
What could be sensed from every
candidate was that familiar ring that echoes everywhere these
days, from
chats with next door neighbors to burgeoning local and national
grassroots movements: it's time to remember, as Reagan would
say, "government is not the solution to our problems, government
is the problem." That message was loud and clear, from all
our candidates.
It's time to roll up our sleeves and
do the dirty work necessary to clean up after the big-government
liberals, and that means cutting spending, reducing debt,
creating real jobs, and eliminating taxes. It means believing in
competition and free enterprise rather than corrosive government
subsidies. And, it means electing candidates
who represent your interests rather than the special agenda of
well-heeled campaign contributors.

The wheels on this movement are
turning, and yesterday's picnic was just one more example of
what fun it is to be a part of. Thanks again to everyone
involved!
In liberty.

What's happening
in SD60? |
|
"When the people fear their
government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there
is liberty...The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to
keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against
tyranny in government."
- John Basil Barnhill, 1914
